Moses Wilson
Woodrow Wilson and his brainchild, the 14 Points, called for a League of Nations to be formed. He presided over the Portsmouth Conference along with David Lloyd George, Georges Clemenceau, and Vittorio Orlando. Here, Wilson is portrayed as Moses, reading his '14 commandments' to his people (Britain, Japan, and Italy, among others). Germany represents Ramses, whom Moses and his people fled from.
Enlist
When conscription was forced, many people (known as 'draft dodgers') tried to escape enlistment. In previous wars, people were able to pay their way out of enlistment, but this was not so for WWI.
Women
Not until 1920 were women officially allowed to vote, and still many women did not have as much power as men. Here, nurses walk down the trenches on the battlefield in France.
